Early Life and Chris Perez
Vanessa is of Mexican descent, with her parents moving from Mexico to the US before she was born .Growing up, she never really brought much attention to herself, living a relatively normal life in Texas. Marriage and Divorce
Before Villanueva and Perez married, Chris was known to have been married to the frontwoman of Selena y Los Dinos – Selena – who he would stay with until her death in 1995, when she was murdered by one of her associates, Yolanda Saldivar, who was known to be obsessed with Selena, but she dismissed all the claims her friends had told her about Saldivar. She was later shot to death. It took some time for Perez to move on, before he was introduced to Villanueva. The two hit it off, but they were together for eight years before Perez finally proposed to her, and they married in 2006.
However, the marriage did not last very long, as they divorced in 2008. The cause was mainly due to Perez having alcohol and drug problems which Villanueva could not cope with. There was even a time where he allegedly abandoned his family, and rarely came home. She wanted to work things out, but all her efforts to restore the relationship failed, so their divorce was filed on claims of irreconcilable differences, which was talked about in the media for some time. A few years after Vanessa’s divorce from Chris, she found opportunities in the entertainment industry as an actress. In 2011 she appeared in her first film entitled “Memphis Rising: Elvis Returns” a story of Elvis not really dying but being in space in another galaxy, eventually returning as an impersonator, but without anyone knowing who he really is.
